A Report on E Pule Kakou, November 25-29, 2009
The stats are in, and they are amazing! The goal for the November 2009 E Pule Kakou effort was 300 participating churches and 300,000 people praying across the state of Hawaii. God exceeded our expectations and brought 356 registered churches that gathered over that week to lift our state in prayer!
According to the Nielsen ratings, 400,000 people watched and, we presume, prayed, along with the televised prayer with the pastors that was shown on Thanksgiving day on nine cable stations and all the major networks! The E Pule Kakou website had an amazing 123,000 hits during that Thanksgiving week!
God is faithful, and people across the state prayed to Jesus, the God who answers prayer! Thank you to all of you who joined in! Our work is far from over, but we continue to see the Lord answering prayers and pouring out His blessings!
MAUI REPORTS FROM NOVEMBER & THE E PULE KAKOU WEEK, December 1, 2009
RAISING OF THE DEAD
At our pastor’s gathering on Tuesday, Pastor Larry from Lahaina Christian Fellowship shared how a Spanish believer from his congregation witnessed the drowning of a Christian man on the beach. The lifeguards and paramedics couldn’t revive him and pronounced him dead at the scene and took his body to Maui Memorial Hospital. He was laid on a gurney when the doctor came in to sign the official certification of death and console the wife. As he turned to the body, the dead man sat up and asked, “What is going on?” Everyone explained he drowned and came back to life. He lifted his hands and said, “All of Maui needs to know what God just did!” (Pastor Larry will follow up for more specific details on name, paramedics and doctors report, etc.)
Updated – December 9, 2009. Wednesday. (Interviewed by Larry Elies) The man’s name is Gerald White, an Assembly of God pastor from Texas, in Hawaii for a vacation. The event happened on November 18th, Thursday. He had no pulse or heartbeat from the moment he was pulled from the water after drowning. He also had water filling his lungs and his kidneys were not functioning. Blood chemical levels of .5 for normal people were at 4.5 revealing a heart attack had happened.
The paramedics could do nothing to revive him and dropped him off at the hospital as dead over an hour after the event happened. Three doctors worked to resuscitate him. He revived and, miraculously, the waters disappeared from his lungs, his heart returned to normal, his kidney began functioning and all vital signs began to turn. A physical nuclear test of 6 hours showed he had nothing physically wrong with him.
The doctors claim that this was nothing short of a miracle. After three days in the hospital, he was released as normal. Gerald is going to write his testimony so we can have it in print and distribute.
MULTIPLICATION OF FOOD
The Feed My Sheep staff and volunteers were giving out food for Thanksgiving. They only had 200 Thanksgiving dinner certificates to distribute to 240 families that showed up. Rather than hand-selecting which families would get the certificates, they decided to distribute it till they ran out. They gave every family one certificate and at the end of the morning had 10 certificate left over. Two hundred minus 240 equals 10 surplus is God’s math.
INCURABLE DISEASE HEALED
A woman, Sandra, in our church got a call from Lydia, a friend in Canada, whose son’s friend, John Jones, was in intensive care and was diagnosed dying of a rare blood disease called cryoglobulin anemia. She was asked to pray for John’s healing and did. The next day another exam revealed the cryoglobulin anemia was gone and his need for oxygen reversed from 90% machine/10% John to 10% machine/90% John. He is being weaned off the dialysis machine. His gay friends were in the room and were asked to repent from their disbelief and backslidden condition and all knelt around the bed to repent before the Lord.
Updated – December 7, 2009, Monday: John is doing well and will soon be released from the hospital. He is constantly praising God for this miracle and tells everybody that God has performed this miracle for him.
FEED MY SHEEP FINANCIAL PROVISION
A multi-millionaire is looking into how he can help fund Feed My Sheep, and a Maui pastor’s nephew was just appointed head of Obama’s Faith-based Community Initiative with a funding budget of $10 billion – this contact will be a great potential for Feed My Sheep and other faith-based organizations in Hawaii to access funding for their organizations.
CHURCH GETS MARKETPLACE LEASE
A church in Maui is awarded the franchise rights from a national chain to open shops across Maui. The church has committed to give 51% of their profits to needs in the community. This chain’s average national profits are around $20-30,000 each month. Maui can accommodate 4 locations, which can make potential profits of $80,000 to $120,000 a month. Competing against another major chain, they were chosen for a lease in a busy marketplace next to Starbuck's and Jamba Juice. They begin business in early 2010.
