Information For Pastors and Priests
- “E Pule Kakou” simply means “Let Us Pray Together” in the Hawaiian language.
- It was a phrase that was repeated in families all across the islands.
- It was a call to the family to come together to seek the Lord Jesus Christ in prayer on a regular, if not daily, basis.
- It was used in almost every home, church, business, government and community gathering.
- It has all but been lost in our world today . . . but God is bringing it back to us!
Why Are We Having E Pule Kakou? What will happen?
It is commanded in the Bible in 1 Timothy 2:1-5:
“First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all people, for kings and all who are in authority..."
If we pray, we will see more peace, tranquility, godliness and dignity permeate our lives, families and communities
“…in order that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity…”
If we pray, we will see more people saved and come to experience the love of God.
“…This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
If we pray, we will see God move in ways we could not have imagined.
“Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think” Ephesians 3:20
